ガラスのハート　/ Glass heart

結構うまくできました、右上の一か所を除いて。どうも真ん中が黄色で周りが白い、よく見かけるフラワーミルフィオリの黄色の部分がフルフューズしたら焦げたようです。そういえば以前黄色のストライカーガラスをフルフューズしたら、他の色のガラスとの境に黒筋が入ったし。黄色のガラスに含まれる化学物質がフルフューズには耐えらなくて焦げてしまうのでしょうか。

七宝焼きでは大先生が「焦げも味」と仰っていますが（もちろん私たちの不注意や技術不足によって出来た焦げではなく、大先生が釉薬の美しさを最大限に引き出すために高温焼成した後にほんの少しできた焦げのことです）、ガラスでは黒ずみは特に目立ってしまうし、第一、自分自身納得できません。なのでこれからも勉強、勉強です。

I think I made something worthwhile excluding the top right corner. I used the plain “center yellow + white background flower) millefiori, and when full fused, the yellow part burnt black. Thinking back, when I used striker yellow glass, the same results occurred, there was a black line between the yellow and other glasses. Maybe the chemical substances in the yellow glass is easily burnt and cannot endure full fusing.

In Shippo (enamel), my grand teacher was saying “burnt parts are precious in itself”. Of course what she meant was that tiny bits of enamel that burn when trying to make the enamels clear and transparent by firing at high temperature is precious, not my careless and incomplete burns. In enamel, a few burns may be a beauty, but in case of glass, black burnt is just trash. Well, in the first place, I myself is not satisfied. So, I must go on studying and studying.
