本日は七宝焼きの日　/　Today is SHIPPO Day

時節柄お出かけすることも難しく、家族は在宅勤務中。なので最近午前中は炉に火を入れることが多いです。

今日は、途中まで作っていたいくつかの作品にさらに手を加えました。

We've got to stay home these days, and my family is working at home. Thus, I'm working with my electric furnace in the mornings.

This morning, I added some tints to the works I've previously made.

作品の出来上がりが気に入らなければ、数日置いておけば、また新たな発想が湧いて手を加えることが出来る、だから絶対に銅板を捨てないこと、と大先生は仰っていました。本当にその通りだと実感しています。私は七宝焼きをはじめてからまだ2年も経っていなくて、七宝焼きに取り組む度に試行錯誤。だから何日にも分けてあれこれ試してみることで、何とか作品として仕上げています。左側のブローチは久しぶりにマーブリングをしてみましたが、まだ手を加える余地がありそうです。

My great master teacher was always saying that if you do not like the works you've made, leave it for a few days, and then, you will have new ideas. Thus, never throw away your works. These days, I really think the words are true. I've started SHIPPO only 20 months ago, and I'm always in continuous process of trial and error. So I always lay aside my work for a few days, add something, and to try to make it into a satisfactory work.  I've added the marbling technique for the left pink brooch, and I think I need to add something more to make it into a complete brooch.
